Floor Sealing

Sydney’s sealing specialists :

City Linemarking can apply a protective sealant to all concrete floors with our in-house spray machines. Our sealant is water based, Australian-made, non-toxic, non-flammable and environmentally friendly. Sealant is well known to add a layer of protection to any surface it is applied to and is used to protect concrete floors.

Most indoor car parks have some form of sealer applied to the surface. Sealant protects the floor from harmful contaminants and chemicals such as engine oil, acid, paint, spills, and coolant leaks, while also reducing tyre marks. The sealant we use is non-markable and has the ability to resist harmful contaminants such as acids and oils. This ensures the concrete resists staining and looks fresh and “new” for the duration of its lifespan.

We recommend using sealant in your warehouse to protect our line marking paint from tyre marks and spills. We’ve detailed
two real warehouse scenarios we come across almost daily:

A) No sealant applied after line marking
The line marking paint is applied to your warehouse floor and is left for the recommended dry time by your warehouse personnel. Once the drying time is complete, you open the area to forklifts and pallet jacks. These vehicles run over the line markings and instantly discolour them with dirty tyre marks. This is because the paint is exposed and has not had a protective layer of sealant applied to resist discolouration from vehicles and foot traffic.

B) Sealant applied after line marking
The line marking isn’t likely to be discoloured by dirty tyres, which is the main cause of paint discolouration in warehouses. The sealant acts as a protective barrier and a simple mop will in most cases clean the sealed line marking and bring it back to its fresh appearance. This is because the sealer protects
the paint and doesn’t allow harmful contaminants such as oils, spills, dirt, or food to permanently stain it. Sealant is always a great option to ensure longevity of your line marking, and in most cases our quotation will include a sealant application option. If it doesn’t, you’re more than welcome to request a sealant quote from your City Linemarking representative.
